Greenlight Collectibles new 1/18th scale Steve McQueen's 'Bullitt' is the '68 Mustang from the 1969 cult movie all contained in great film themed box with Bullitt detailing!................It all begins with the click of a seat belt... What follows is probably the greatest car chase ever filmed, nine minutes of fender-bending, brake screaming excitement as Detective Frank Bullitt (played by Steve McQueen) pulls out at the wheel of his '68 Mustang GT in pursuit of two mobsters through the hilly streets of San Francisco.
It's been 40 years since STEVE McQUEEN first took us on the ride of our lives, now you can recapture the white-knuckle excitement with the new 1/18th diecast replica of the 1968 Mustang of Steve McQueen from the movie BULLITT. The chase sequence from the Steve McQueen classic Bullitt took viewers on the ride of their lives and established McQueen as the undisputed King of Cool.
McQueen himself was the force behind the most talked about scene in Bullitt. Determined to shoot the best car chase ever, the finest stunt coordinators and drivers in the motion picture industry were used to "choreograph" and perform the nine+ minute turbo charged chase, to the accompaniment of squealing brakes, growling exhausts and grating of gears. The entire sequence took three weeks to film, with McQueen himself behind the wheel through much of the chase. Unlike classic film chases of the past, traditionally filmed at slow speeds and then sped up by the editor, there were no special effects employed in the Bullitt chase sequence. What you see is what you get. The cars were shot at real-time speeds, frequently clocked at 124mph!
